DESCRIPTION OF THE SHOW:

The play WSTYDŹ SIĘ is a comedy-drama written by Weronika Murek and directed by Julia Mark.It is a poignantly topical Polish response to „A Cache Story”.The disappearance of shame in women has become a powerful problem in the modern world. At the request of the authorities, the „NEW SHAME” program has been created and thousands of centers have been set up to restore female shame with the help of appropriate training. To one such center goes Lilith (Beata Kawka). There she will meet Ewa (Joanna Brodzik), who has been in therapy for several years… The two protagonists, two women like dolls in pastel slippers and wide skirts, confront their shame. Locked in a pretty center full of pink, mint and bright blue, they experience their horror. The play is intended for ages 16+.***Are you ashamed of?Education, low wages, under-qualified job, appearance, home, partner, past? Most often we are ashamed in three areas: corporeality, competence, interpersonal relationships. The topic of shame affects us all. Regardless of identity. We are ashamed of an imperfect body, ashamed that we are inadequate at home, incompetent at work, that we are unable to form a real relationship, afraid of intimacy, unable to accept ourselves as we really are. We are constantly ashamed in front of our parents, partner, boss, work friends and strangers we meet at the gym, and finally – we are ashamed in front of ourselves̨.Shame can take control of us, rob us of confidence, make us feel̨ small and worthless. Shame can weaken us. Shame can kill us…Joanna Brodzik and Beata Kawka in the play WSTYDŹ SIĘ, step by step discover the hidden shames of their heroines. They will take you on a journey into ourselves. They will invite you to release our common shames. It is you who will decide whether shame will stop weakening you. And it will become your strength. You will free yourself!

EXCERPTS FROM REVIEWS:

I am convinced that „Shame on You,” a play written by Weronika Murek and directed by Julia Mark (SCENA RELAX), starring wonderful actresses Joanna Brodzik and Beata Kawka, should be seen by every girl and woman. And, of course, the guys should too. Because shame affects us all.
Shame accompanies us almost every day, it can affect many areas including our bodies, skills, behavior, appearance, material resources, past. (…)
This is worth knowing. It is worth understanding why it happens. Because understanding is the first step to try to deal with what hurts, blocks and limits us. Deal with it, too, with the help of laughter. Because laughter is a wonderful therapeutic tool.
Watch „Shameless” and try to crack down on your „shames”.
